Hermann Guenther is a retired civil engineer, with a passion for traveling, photography and hiking. His job and the love of mountains took him to other parts of the world, earned him more than eleven thousand trail miles under his feet, including the more than four thousand miles he hiked with his wife Vien. They are still pounding the trails and after many years living in Colorado, today they live in Southern California.
Hermann’s book
This book is a memoir about Hermann’s adventures in the world of mountains. It is not a hiking guidebook, but rather a narrative describing the most memorable hikes he has completed in various places around the world. Insight into the locales where these hikes have taken place adds some local flavor to the narrative. He shares these memories both in words and photographs that he and his wife, Vien, have taken while wearing out many pairs of hiking boots.
